High School graduate or equivalent.Workplace Experience:
At least one year of medical office experience and ability to communicate wellEquipment and Skills Training:
Competent in the use of computers, printers, facsimile machines, copy machines, business phones, document scanners and other office equipment and supplies.Physical Environment:
Office environment.Physical Effort:
Must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English, both verbally and in written form, squat, reach overhead, and operate a computer/keyboard and heard instruction as appropriate.PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

  • Schedules appointments appropriately in Allscripts
  • Maintains current patient information
  • Provides simple medical advice under the direction of the physician
  • Provides patients with info on HIPPA and insures compliance
  • Maintains patient records
  • Ensures patients are informed of changes in office policies
  • Scans patient paperwork/records
  • Follows proper lifting techniques to prevent back injury
  • Consistently verifies patient insurance information
  • Follows scheduling instructions
  • Consistently verifies insurance for eligibility and pre-certification, if need
  • Maintains open line of communication with all staff
  • Answers phones politely and within 4 rings
