  • Monitors Security Communications Systems such as Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV); Intrusion Detection’s System (IDS); and telephone/radio systems.
  • Recommends to the supervisor and director, changes in the organization of work or assignment of functions in order to improve workflow and service coverage, promote job satisfactions, and increase productivity.
  • Serves as police officer on installation with conventional ammunition, supply and maintenance mission, and general supply mission.
  • Patrols assigned areas on depot to detect, apprehend, arrest or cite offenders of federal or state laws or violation of a regulation.
  • Conducts security patrols in industrial and storage areas to enforce security regulations, plans, and policies.
  • Dispatches police, fire and emergency units to scenes of crimes, accidents and natural disasters.

RequirementsConditions of Employment

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. IAW AR 600-85, a DA 5019 Condition of Employment must be signed for mandatory drug testing.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver’s License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
  • This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training.
  • This position has annual training and re-certification requirements.
  • This position is covered by the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) IAW AR 190-56 and has been designated by Department of Army as critical to the national or internal security. Personnel must meet the standards for the IRP.
  • This position requires that the incumbent graduate from an academy accredited by the U. S. Army Military Police School (USAMPS) Civilian Police Academy or receive an initial training waiver or be excepted per para 4-4 of the Army Regulation 190-56.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) annually.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
  • CNTD -This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
  • This position has been designated “Mission Essential”.
  • CNTD – In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

QualificationsWho May Apply: US CitizensIn order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.Note: Each grade has different qualifications, which must be met in order to be considered for that grade.Specialized Experience at the GS-06 level: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Maintaining order and protecting life; (2) Responding to citizens in emergency/non-emergency situations; and (3) Protecting of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).Specialized Experience at the GS-07 level: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Enforcing criminal laws; (2) Conducting search and investigation operations; and (3) Preparing a variety of reports such as sworn statements, and affidavits. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).Certifications required to qualify at the GS-07 level: FLETA Accredited Law Enforcement Certification (US Army Civilian Police Academy).
