Job description: Salary Range: $43.2700 – $66.5300 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:The Employee Relations (ER) Advisor provides key consultation, solutions and support to organizational leadership in support of the Hoag strategic plan. Uses critical thinking, judgement and persuasion to drive decisions that are in alignment with Hoag’s core values. Develops effective relationships with the business to understand organization dynamics. Creates strategies to proactively address workplace issues with stakeholders. Identifies & analyzes trends to proactively address root causes and systemic issues. Engages leadership to identify options and resources to meet operational needs and to build support for identified solutions. Consults on all matters involving the employee/employer relationship and especially those that are complex and sensitive. Provides expert HR input on operational decisions and interpretation and application of policies and procedures. Provides subject matter expertise on policies, employment law, the investigation process, understanding trends and applying best practices. The Employee Relations Advisor will have working knowledge of various Human Resources (HR) practices including, but not limited to, employee relations, performance management, legal and regulatory compliance, skill development, interactive process and requests for accommodation, and compensation practices.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, industrial labor relations, business or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in employee relationsMinimum of 8 years within Human ResourcesProven track record as a trusted advisor and consultant to the business & HR leadership to provide effective counsel on workplace mattersStrong knowledge of pertinent labor/employment laws as well as human resource management principles, practices & proceduresExperience delivering business-based solutions in potentially emotional, pressure filled and time sensitive situationsSignificant experience with statistical concepts, interpreting statistical results and identifying trendsStrong knowledge of local, state (California) and federal employment law and regulations including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA and workers compensationStrong knowledge of performance managementExperience advising management regarding complex performance deficiency or policy violation issues, including high-risk cases requiring investigations performed under attorney-client privilegePreferred:Master’s degree in Human Resources, industrial labor relations, business or related fieldLarge corporation HR/ER experienceManaged complex and cross-functional initiatives, processes and projectsHealthcare industry knowledgeStrong experience in Microsoft Office Suite applicationsExperience with Success Factors or other recruiting systems, and Lawson or other HRIS systems.Hoag is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
