A County Fiscal Officer 1 is needed to assure quality accounting and administrative oversight and professional direction within Northumberland County Children and Youth Services (CYS). Our agency performs a variety of social service and casework duties designed to provide supportive services to children, youth, and families. Showcase your knowledge and experience in the field and unleash your potential with our office!DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis is a professional social service position in a county children and youth agency which is responsible for the fiscal operations of the organization. Within this role, you will be developing and managing budgets, revenues, and expenditures as well as maintaining financial ledgers and journals. You will be responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, developing and implementing cost allocation plans, and preparing fiscal forecasts for the Children and Youth Administrator and County Board of Commissioners. The County Fiscal Officer 1 also provides supervision and evaluation for the staff in the fiscal and clerical units within the agency. This position gives you the opportunity to work closely with other social service agencies, hospitals, mental health facilities, police, Courts, schools, and other community resources in assisting the families.If you have excellent communication skills and are able to efficiently manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, we highly encourage you to apply!Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Fiscal Technician and six college credits in accounting; or
  • Five years of bookkeeping experience and six college credits in accounting; or
  • Three years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business related associate’s degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • One year of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related bachelor’s degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes or is supplemented by six college credits in accounting.
