Job description: Chief Lending Officer – Credit UnionSpringfield, MA – Hybrid (3 days in office per week)The Opportunity:
As the Compliance Officer of MassMutual Federal Credit Union (MMFCU), you will be a valued member of a supportive, diverse, and skilled team. You will be responsible for ensuring that the credit union operates in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. You will monitor, review, and report on the credit union’s compliance activities, identify and mitigate compliance risks, and provide guidance and training to staff and management on compliance matters. You will also liaise with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure the credit union’s compliance status and reputation.The Team:
The Compliance team is comprised of a quality control specialist. The team is expected to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with other business units within the organization.The Impact:Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program for the credit union, covering areas such as lending, deposits, operations, security, privacy, anti-money laundering, and consumer protection.Conduct periodic compliance audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the compliance program and identify any gaps or deficiencies.Prepare and submit compliance reports and filings to internal and external parties, such as the board of directors, senior management, regulators, auditors, and trade associations.Research and analyze new and existing laws, regulations, policies, and best practices that affect the credit union’s compliance obligations and communicate any changes or updates to relevant stakeholders.Provide compliance advice and guidance to staff and management on various compliance issues and questions, such as product development, marketing, contracts, policies, procedures, and training.Develop and deliver compliance training and education programs to staff and management to enhance their compliance awareness and knowledge.Investigate and resolve any compliance incidents, complaints, or violations and implement corrective actions and preventive measures.Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulators, auditors, and other external parties and represent the credit union in any compliance-related inquiries, examinations, or audits.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, law, or related field.3+ years of experience in compliance, audit, risk, or legal roles in the financial services industry, preferably in credit unions or banks.1+ years of experience with federal and state laws and regulations that apply to credit unions, such as the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) rules, the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).Preferred Qualifications:Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and ability to interpret and apply complex and changing compliance requirements.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with various audiences, such as staff, management, regulators, auditors, the board of directors and members.High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.Familiarity with credit union system terminology and acronyms.What to Expect as Part of the TeamRegular collaboration with the Executive TeamFocused one-on-one time with your managerAccess to mentorship opportunitiesNetworking opportunities including access to Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, African American, women, LGBTQ, veteran and disability-focused Business Resource GroupsAccess to learning content on Degreed and other informational platformsYour ethics and integrity will be valued by a company with a strong and stable ethical business with industry leading pay and benefits#LI-DM2Salary Range: $62,600.00-$82,100.00At MassMutual, we focus on ensuring fair equitable pay, by providing competitive salaries, along with incentive and bonus opportunities for all employees.
