This particular role is responsible for designing/developing, maintaining and publishing operational reports. Provides operational analysis utilized for decision making. May make recommendations based on the analysis and provide explanations for reporting results as needed. May be done for internal operational purposes as well as for customers. As a reporting analyst, you are responsible for collecting relevant reports, analyzing raw data, writing, and delivering executive-ready qualitative and/or quantitative reports as per departmental and clients’ requirements. The results collected will be communicated to managers or clients, who will then provide suggestions based on their findings. You must have excellent quantitative qualitative , a strong eye for detail, strong organizational and multitasking abilities, and be able to work on tight deadlines. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is a must for this position.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Gather/Document/Support Report Requirements
  • Schedule and/or meet with internal (e.g., Management/data analytics) and/or external customers (e.g., external agencies) in order to gather report requirements and data analysis needs
  • Identify appropriate data sources, report metrics, and tools for providing required information according to clients’ requests
  • Determine scope of requested work in order to assess resource requirements and create work plans
  • Demonstrate understanding of reporting requirements for our various benefit plans
  • Demonstrate understanding of relevant platforms and software
  • Demonstrate understanding of business terminology and acronyms in order to accurately interpret customers’ requests
  • Communicate with third-party vendors in order to gather and/or deliver information needed to complete reports (i.e, Outcomes reports from Mayo, covered lives reports from clients and carriers)
  • Identify relevant stakeholders needed to help define report requirements and resolve issues as needed
  • Provide information and/or assistance (e.g., answer questions; provide time estimates) to internal team members to support requirements gathering and planning efforts
  • Define and/or ensure that report parameters are established consistent with data governance requirements (e.g., share minimally necessary data)
  • Create/Provide/Support Ad Hoc reporting Requirements
  • Identify and/or create/utilize relevant applications needed to source appropriate data
  • Review and/or identify appropriate report format to use (e.g., existing reports; new report) based on customers’ needs
  • Test and review completed reports and associated metrics used in order to ensure accuracy and quality (e.g., compare to previous reports)
  • Ensure customers have appropriate access to reports (e.g., review and resolve security access provisions; ensure proper documentation is obtained)
  • Test and verify the accuracy of incoming or received data prior to generating reports
  • Create and/or update presentation documents and materials to summarize results (e.g., written reports; PowerPoint deck; graphs and/or charts)
  • Document report database processes and procedures in order to ensure business continuity in the generation of reports
  • Ensure that reports are distributed according to service level agreements (e.g., deadlines; performance guarantees)
  • Communicate with internal and/or external customers concerning the status of their report requests (e.g., expected completion date; current progress)
  • Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve any errors or discrepancies identified when reviewing distributed reports
  • Keep internal customers informed of resource availability and relevant contingency plans for conducting reports
  • Seek input and/or approvals from relevant customers prior to implementing new procedures or report features
  • Demonstrate knowledge of operations, goals, and policies and procedures of internal business partners (e.g., information contacts) in order to provide effective support to internal and/or external customers
  • Ensure data governance requirements are met and internal procedures are followed when sharing reports and/or sensitive information
  • Conduct internal process reviews and/or gather feedback from internal and/or external customers in order to identify opportunities to improve operational performance (e.g., report automation)
  • Review manual report packages to identify opportunities to automate reporting and/or eliminate redundancies
  • Work with relevant business partners (e.g., account management) to review the effectiveness/relevance of reporting packages and cadences
  • Training and encouraging staff to maintain complete databases that can be used for subsequent analysis
  • Gathering data from pertinent individuals for staffing model reporting
  • Collating such data to facilitate its interpretation
  • Checking and cleaning data, taking special care to replace erroneous values with correct figures
  • Analyzing data, with due consideration for the influence of missing information, outliers, plus confounding and extraneous variables. (How high dollar. low dollar amounts can influence averages and skew data)
  • Maintain database reports and perform updates as necessary to ensure accuracy
  • Create business reports that provide insight into key data points (identifying trends and reasons for those trends, identify reasons behind significant data changes)
  • Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers
  • Medical record collection

  • 1 + years of experience in reporting, audit and analyzing data
  • Effective organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced multi-tasking environment
  • Solid interpersonal skills with ability function as a positive team member

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 + years of experience in medical records collection
  • Medical office skills
